The Executive Committee of the IDNA have decided to provide a free advertisement facility for dentists wishing to recruit dental nursing staff and for dental nurses seeking employment.
Welcome News The Department of Health and Children has approved the development of a new National Oral Health Policy. This will involve a revised regulatory regime for the dental sector in relandculminating in a new Dentists Act. The development of this policy will be undertaken in partnership with the Health Service Executive in collaboration with other stakeholders including the Irish Dental Nurses Association. We will keep you updated on our progress with this important item.
Salary Scales The IDNA currently does not endorse a specific salary scale for Dental Nurses. In general, in the experience of the Executive Committee of the IDNA, Dental Nurses employed in the private sector are remunerated at higher rates than Dental Nurses in equivalent positions employed in the public sector.
In the case of the latter, the salary scales recommended by the Department of Health and Children (effective June 2007) are available to download atwww.dohc.ie
